Peavey Bass Amp
The dream that was the Peavey Bass Amplifier
A young teenager's unfulfilled dream to own an electronic guitar and an amplifier marked the beginning of a small business venture producing the first ever Peavey Bass Amplifier.
Hartley Peavey, the mastermind behind the Peavey Electronics Corporation, was inspired to learn how to play the guitar while attending a Bo Diddley concert in his teenage years. His request for a guitar and an amplifier drove him to modify a classical guitar and build his very own pick up and amplifier.
Commercial production of the Peavey Bass Amplifier
After graduating from Mississippi State University, Peavey used the remaining $8000 from his college fund to produce amplifiers from the basement in his parents' house. He later teamed up with Leo Fender who inspired him to create the best equipment for sale at an affordable price. This tactic appealed to the needs of the 1960 musicians giving the Peavey bass amplifier the edge above other amplifiers in the market.
Peavey's company expanded quickly from the basement and within five years Peavey had 150 employees working under him.
His next team up was with Eddie Van Halen and the 5150 amp was born. This amplifier was built based on Halen's dream design and soon became a must have among the hard rock guitarists of that time.
The Peavey Electronics Corporation manufactures other musical instruments and amplifiers like key board amps, steel guitars and drums, electric guitars and bass guitars. Peavey has made a name for building the finest bass guitars and amplifiers made out of superior materials making them very durable.
A sample of bass guitars made by Peavey include; grind series, milestone series, zodiac series, millennium series and the cirrus series. The peavey bass amps generate a powerful output and come in the max series, pro series and tour series.
Peavey has succeeded in creating a firm that produces the highest quality equipment and accessories to meet both the old school and new school rock musician's needs.
The beauty of these bass guitars and their amplifiers is not just in their splendid carefully crafted bodies but in the sounds they produce. These sounds cut across two distant genres that are brought together by the guitar, rock and country music.
